Officially opened by the queen on 25th October 2013 to celebrate her golden jubilee. We machine laid 3 kilometres of seating granite blocks with weights between 300-2500 kilos. We also laid 4000m2 of flamed and cropped 100x100x100 setts laid onto a concrete bed and grouted. To follow the design pattern and variety of sett finishes we had to cut the equivalent of 18 kilometres of setts. A fantastic project under one of the most famous landmarks in the UK.
